I think that one of the greatest things about EQ was how there were huge involved quests that didn't blatantly spell out where to go or what to do. You had to use your head to try and figure out what was being asked of you. If I had to give an example it would be the Shaman Epic 1.5/2.0 questline when it first came out. No one knew what to do for it yet, it wasn't datamined or on Allakhazam, and that's probably why it's one of my favorite memories. I spent a good bit of time exploring zones I never really went to while chasing down hunches, and accidently running in to quest mobs.
