Actually. The spell data is the same. Both of them have a 40 in the spell data. BUT... that does not translate to 40 on the character. Spells go through some weird calculation. The difference is the other item does not SAY 40... it just says it gives AC, without being specific.... in all other respects... the AC on those items acts exactly the same. It is JUST the description that is different.
