Not sure if it would just shift the burden of creating the recipes but would it be easier to have the recipe defined when the spell is created and have an active/inactive indicator that says if the recipe is active? Then to activate an expansion it would be just a query to set all the recipes active instead of doing all the recipes for an entire expansion. I'm sure that it can't be done with the current design but if you are going to be doing work for rk1/rk2, it might be something to keep in the back of your mind. Either make the design come closer to this (if you think it's something worthwhile) or try to not do something that makes it harder to get to this. Seems like you guys do a lot of cut/paste when you create spells and maybe you can gain something from that for spell research. Maybe only have the standard evndor bought items stored for the spell and the dropped items in a table by level. Every level 85 spell uses blahblah and every level 86 spell uses a different blahblah. Sort of like the differnet level of potions for alchemy. Sure would cut down on the work for an expansion. Nost of recipe gets cut/pasted when spell is created and all you have to do is set the farmed component and set the active indicator.
maybe? It could help, but it is still a time issue. I would basically need time to do two expansions worth of spells at the same time to "catch up"
