While we certainly do our best to minimize extra patching, sometimes it is necessary. The one patch a month is a goal, certainly not a guarantee. Though believe me everyone nearby can hear my displeasure when we need to patch this often.

Even this afternoon I'm sitting at my desk making phone calls to try to frorestall another patch NEXT week. The patch this week needs to go out due to update for Fan Faire, and there are other urgent changes from our platform team that need to go out ASAP, but may not be ready for this Wednesday's patch. So while I do my best to minimize patching, sometimes the stars just do not align like we'd like them to.
