Its ok. EQ only writes over the base layer maps.
Just turn off the base layer and you should be fine.
Not sure if this is the same issue, but EQ is writing my dragonscale_1.txt file from 542k to 0, dragonscale_2.txt from 5k to 0. dragonscale_3.txt is always 0. It doesn't do that for non SoF zones.
I'm having this same problem with EQ overwriting certain maps. The Misty Thicket map was overwritten and I tried turning base layer off, and naturally, I was left with a blank map screen. The map EQ sticks in there has no labels, no points of interest, etc. I had to wander aimlessly till I stumbled onto the Knowledge book because I couldn't remember where it was lol.

Hey I have the same issue.... is that when EQ re-downloads all the maps you upload? I have had that issue for about a year now.
