Since it's Monday, and I'm in a GREAT mood after a nice weekend, I'll just throw this out there since it comes up a lot.
We don't feel the argument of "I had to do x back in the day, so you should too" is a reason to discard ideas that would help the game survive and grow. If a change is deemed to be in the best interests of the game, it will likely happen barring any insane code requirements or difficulty of implementation.
