I'm more curious (in general) as to whether thought is given to the fail rates as expansions age. If Devs want a 50% fail rate to control how much of something comes into the world. And the iitems to make it only drop within that expansions, then when new expansions come live and the drops are no longer farmed from the older expansion, that effectively lowers the rate at whcih said items come into the world.

While the fail rate remains the same, occurance of said item gets smaller and smaller. Is that an expected and accounted for component when determining an item's rarity of coming into the world?

That is expected. As items like that age, they ALSO become less desirable in general, so the lower level of available resources follows along with a general decrease in demand.

Wolf climbs mountain; meaning that if we are to hunt our prey in tougher and tougher terrain we must become more adapted to that environment. The question I raise is how much of an increase are you going to do? The larger you make the mountain, the harder it is for wolves to climb. Eventually, you reach a tipping point and our good old friend Malthus and Darwin begin to rear their heads on our wolf population for resources and competition.

So are you doing these trivials by a base formula per expansion, or do you have a telos in having these trivials that high when you raise the caps at the "right moment?" With the current math, when is the "tipping point" for these trivials without the code intervention?

I have been basing the trivial off of an expected fail rate AND level of the resultant items. With the lack of the skill increase, I have narrowed the gap "between" levels, AND may not raise it at all for the next level increase.

There is not a significant increase in trivials for new alchemy and poison (a few points maybe) in the Underfoot expansion since there is no level increase.

the *tipping* point is around 45-50% success rate even with mastery AA's. Of course there may be exceptions, but they will be special case.
