Yes, you will need to get a new armor book. But that is also an extremely easy quest.
The symbol book on the other hand makes not class specific items and uses a non class specific container (the book binding) so you can continue to use it until it is out of charges.
That description would have page after page of description if we highlight every possible issue you will have from making a race change.
We trust our players to be intelligent enough to consider the issues of a change and prepare themselves appropriately.
