Yes there are plants.

Please tell me there are animals too. Chardok was a longtime favorite because there was a clever mix of animals (chokidai) in varying strengths throughout most of the dungeon, so a charm oriented druid could add some decent situational damage while grouping. Well, IF the druid knew what he was doing and the group extended some trust. http://www.mapfiend.net/eq/images/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif Hopefully, there might even be a few places with concentrations of non-weakened animals -- something that was noticeably missing in SoD.

I trust there will be a smattering of summoned/construct mobs in UF as well, since three classes have spell lines specifically for them.

I am not aware of any animals. There may be some I am not thinking of, but in general, no animals.

Recent variants of druid charm spells have affected not only animals but insects as well. At present, although pre-release insects seem to be rather ubiquitous, they appear to NOT be tagged as insects and therefore not charmable:

"Your target does not meet the spell requirements."

Even the quest giver refer to the invaders as insects and furthermore wishes my help in creating an insecticide concoction. I fully anticipate three ranks of a level 86 charm spell I cannot use. Oh, joy.

Considering the rate at which the bugs drop a full complement of smithing/tailoring drops, I assume they are tagged as humanoid.

There are insects galore. The original question was about animals, which there are few to none.
